    Get PDF
Mobile IPv6 and SIP are protocols designed to support different types of mobility. Mobile IPv6 has been used to support mobility in IP networks and SIP has been used for voice over IP applications. It is the signalling protocol of the IP multimedia subsystem (IMS). In this paper both protocols have been simulated and compared in order to observe their performance for voice over IP (VoIP) applications. In this paper the architectures proposed by researchers in order to combine mobile IPv6 and SIP have also been investigated and compared to analyse their advantages and disadvantages. A network scenario, running mobile IPv6 and SIP for IMS, has also been simulated in order to evaluate the performance offered by the two protocols and to compare them with the results from the simulation of the pure mobile IPv6 and SIP architectures. The comparison shows that the combined scenario offers better performance similar to the one obtained using only mobile IPv6 with route optimization. The scenario simulated was also compared with the integrated architectures for mobile IPv6 and SIP that were investigated

Da'wa is a process of increasing the quality of faith within human soul according to the Islamic sharia. This process is continuous, systematic and it should be carried out step by step. This process aims at activating the act of continuous improvement within oneself. Enhancing faith towards god is manifested in the form of enhancing knowledge, awareness, and good deeds. Therefore, it is a moral obligation for Muslims to keep the course of social change on track through introducing and implementating Islamic values in every aspect of life. Thus, it is not an exaggeration to say that achieving the goal of divine social change according to Islam can onle be carried out by da'wa activity

Al-Kindi is the first Muslim philosopher to construct Islamic philosophical thoughts in a systematic and clear way. Philosophical thoughts of Al-Kindi are reflection of doctrines that he received from classic Greece sources and the legacy of Neo-Platonic thoughts combined with Islamic faith. Al-Kindi opens the room of dialogue to combine philosophical doctrines and religion. Knowledge about God, according to Al-Kindi, is early philosophy or the first philosophy; philosophy that states al-Haqq as telos that will end the overall works of philosophy. Al-Kindi divides intelligence based on several stages as follows: active intelligence (intelligence that guarantees the ability of human beings to understand rational matters that needs external stimuli), actual intelligence (potential intelligence that escaped potential boundary when soul started to understand rational and abstract matters), and physical intelligence (intelligence that seriously comprehend rational matters and seeks to transform potential matter into actual thing)

The internet and associated Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) are diffusing at an astounding pace. As data centers (DCs) proliferate to accommodate this rising demand, their environmental impacts grow too. While the energy efficiency of DCs has been researched extensively, their water footprint (WF) has so far received little to no attention. This article conducts a preliminary WF accounting for cooling and energy consumption in DCs. The WF of DCs is estimated to be between 1047 and 151,061 m3/TJ. Outbound DC data traffic generates a WF of 1–205 liters per gigabyte (roughly equal to the WF of 1 kg of tomatos at the higher end). It is found that, typically, energy consumption constitues by far the greatest share of DC WF, but the level of uncertainty associated with the WF of different energy sources used by DCs makes a comprehensive assessment of DCs’ water use efficiency very challenging. Much better understanding of DC WF is urgently needed if a meaningful evaluation of this rapidly spreading service technology is to be gleaned and response measures are to be put into effect

The present work purpose is to study experimentally the clarification of wastewater using the electroflotation technique. In a first part, we have realized the bench scale. After that, we have studied the principal parameters (alimentation tension, distance between electrodes, period of treatment) affecting the process using a simulated model of wastewater. The application of the optimized parameters on wastewater of the treatment station of ALCOVEL, showed a high removal of BOD5, COD, turbidity, SS and colour. In a second part, we have studied the separation of some heavy metals such as iron, nickel, copper, zinc, lead and cadmium. This, permeated us to show that the kinetic of electroflotation is very quick (<15 min), and the removal rate reach 99%.Keywords: electroflotation; aluminum electrodes; turbidity; industrial wastewater; heavy metals; spectrometry

Children have potential for demonstrating increased creativity where certain negative influences are removed during the creative process. These negative influences include the involvement of the teacher in the art and design class at school. This study establishes through primary and secondary research the different ways that teachers engage with children as potential influences that are tested through experimentation. The study was concerned with revealing levels of creativity in designs as well as signs of adult influence. The results revealed that different types of involvement do have a negative impact on creativity, especially giving children instructions

Self-affine surface morphology of plastically deformed metals

We analyze the surface morphology of metals after plastic deformation over a range of scales from 10 nm to 2 mm, using a combination of atomic force microscopy and scanning white-light interferometry. We demonstrate that an initially smooth surface during deformation develops self-affine roughness over almost four orders of magnitude in scale. The Hurst exponent HH of one-dimensional surface profiles is initially found to decrease with increasing strain and then stabilizes at H≈0.75H \approx 0.75. By analyzing their statistical properties we show that the one-dimensional surface profiles can be mathematically modelled as graphs of a fractional Brownian motion. Our findings can be understood in terms of a fractal distribution of plastic strain within the deformed samples
